Security forces destroy illegal buildings in Bakaro market

Security forces of Somali transitional federal government have launched a significant operation destroying illegal buildings in the main Bakara market in the Somali capital Mogadishu, SONNA confimed.

This task is a joint operation by security forces of Somali government and Benadir regional administration clearing narrow streets in the market and turning into wide ones by using tools like Bulldozers and tractors.

Chief Commander of Somali national security agency, Mr. Khalif Ahmed Erag told reporters in Bakara today that the government and Bakara traders agreed to remove illegal business centers in that market and reopen all streets in the market.

Some of Bakara business people have broken and taken their material constructions, shops and so on before the operation began as they got early warning from the government.

N.S.A Chief Commander, Khalif added that the government will allocate another place to the people whose business stations were completely broken down and on the other hand, traders and normal people have warmly welcomed the operation as this will enable them to serve comfortably.
